Catalog description
Repository, collection, book, dates, and locator may be citable metadata even when the image cannot be redistributed.
Rights and reuse
Repositories, custodians, creators, contributors, and subjects can hold different rights and interests in the same source. Each layer receives its own decision.
Repository, collection, book, dates, and locator may be citable metadata even when the image cannot be redistributed.
Viewing access does not automatically grant download, republication, or derivative-image rights.
A modern reading or translation can have separate authorship and licensing from the underlying record.
Ownership, research use, public fact use, media reuse, credit, and withdrawal must be stated separately.
The site may publish an eligible factual description and citation while withholding the image or full transcription. Every public asset must record provenance, fixity hash, rights holder or custodian, allowed use, privacy state, and review date. “Available online” is never used as a substitute for permission.
Cite the page title, Dobesh Society, URL, content-status date, and the underlying source citation shown on the page. A future public data export will carry its own version, schema, manifest, and reuse terms.
The six record dossiers publish citations, descriptions, short excerpts or paraphrases only. No MZA, NARA-aggregator, Ancestry, Newspapers.com, family-copy, obituary, or memorial image is included. Each image remains held until provenance and reuse are reviewed for that exact object.
The site distinguishes exact quotation, paraphrase, and thematic citation. Current Tobit, Psalm 100, Proverbs 22, and Sirach references are paraphrases with links because the existing NABRE memo does not clearly grant ordinary public-web excerpt use. The book's adapted Tobit 9:6 text is not reproduced as NABRE, and the full Tobit 13 canticle is not reproduced.
Short RSV-2CE excerpts remain within the project permission thresholds. Required notice:
