Source ledger
Coverage is a fact of its own.
A trustworthy surname archive records not only what was found, but also which books exist, what each book covers, how many images belong to it, what was inspected, and where the gaps remain.
Five bounded Moravian register units
| Official unit | Cataloged coverage | Viewer denominator | Present use |
| Rouchovany 10844 | Births 1708–1777; marriages 1708–1779; deaths 1708–1778 | 410 images | Principal continuation source for seven cataloged localities, including Rouchovany and Šemíkovice. |
| Krhov 10553 | Births 1655–1714 | 118 images | Predecessor birth book; its 20 cataloged localities include Krhov, Rouchovany, and Šemíkovice. |
| Krhov 10560 | Marriages 1679–1714 | 24 images | Predecessor marriage book for the same broad locality group. |
| Krhov 10565 | Deaths 1679–1703 | 19 images | Known death coverage ends before the later Rouchovany book begins. |
| Krhov 10554 | Births, marriages, deaths 1714–1762 | 177 images | A separate seven-locality Krhov-area stream; its cataloged localities do not include Rouchovany or Šemíkovice. |
Combined denominator: 748 viewer images. This is a source-unit denominator, not a claim that all images have been read or that every image contains an in-scope name.
Two coverage questions that changed the roadmap
1708–1714 overlap
The official catalog assigns Rouchovany and Šemíkovice to the Krhov predecessor books through 1714 while Rouchovany 10844 begins in 1708. The six-year overlap must be audited by event type, locality, and year. It may reflect parallel entry, copying, jurisdiction transition, catalog inclusivity, or uneven local coverage.
1704–1707 death gap
Within these five units, death coverage ends in 1703 and resumes in 1708. That is a bounded gap in this source map, not proof that no record exists elsewhere and not evidence that an event did or did not happen.
Beyond parish registers
The horizontal queue also maps land books, estate registers, urbaria, tax and subject lists, civil records, passenger-arrival microfilm, church records, newspapers, cemeteries, and other source classes. Each unit must receive its own date and locality scope, image/page denominator, rights statement, and terminal status before a negative or completeness claim is made.
Access is not evidence, and evidence is not reuse permission
An accessible catalog proves that a catalog object is available. A stable image locator proves that the intended image can be found. Neither proves a name reading, a person identity, a relationship, or permission to republish the image.
